For more than 20 years, Maureen Vogel practiced at a well-known Am Law 100 firm where she represented health care provider entities in litigation and regulatory matters. In 2019, Maureen joined the legal department of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (“Blue KC”) and is currently Senior Associate General Counsel. Maureen combines the skills she developed as a trial lawyer with in-depth knowledge of laws and regulations governing the health care industry to advise the health plan’s business leaders.  Maureen leads the health plan’s privacy team and provides legal advice primarily focused on provider contracting, payment integrity, reimbursement disputes, and regulatory compliance.  Given her prior experience representing health care providers, Maureen also serves as legal counsel to Spira Care, LLC, an advanced primary care practice that is available to Blue KC members who have health plans that include exclusive access to Spira Care Centers.
