Dr. Derrick Jackson is the 11th President of American Baptist College in Nashville, Tennessee. A native of Itta Bena, Mississippi, he holds degrees from Prairie View A&M University, Keller Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University, and Lipscomb University, and is completing a Doctor of Business Administration at Trevecca Nazarene University.
Dr. Jackson has served as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Gallatin, Tennessee, since 2001 and is Executive Director of the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA. He is an author, educator, and civic leader whose work in racial reconciliation and community engagement has earned national recognition.
Guided by his vision, Dr. Jackson affirms: “ABC is small enough to care, but big enough to change the world.”
